1980 - 1989

Three partners established a small office on Kirinyaga Road, driven by a commitment to exceptional craftsmanship. Their initial production facility in Kitengela focused on creating dormitory beds for the Department of Defense, along with ling cabinets and shelving for local supermarkets. As they expanded, the Ministry of Education tasked Ashut with supplying furniture for teacher training colleges nationwide, employing about 100 staff at the time.

1995 - 1996
Leading Manufacturer in Kenya

Ashut purchased property on Lokitaung Road, increasing its office and storage capacity to support business growth. The company broadened its product range, starting to manufacture agricultural tools like shovels and gardening rakes, along with locks for post office letterboxes. Additionally, Ashut saw an opportunity to enter the rigid plastics market for industrial packaging.

2003 - 2005

As the agricultural sector expanded, Ashut invested in manufacturing wheelbarrows, milk cans, and warehouse racking. This growth led to opportunities, including a commission from the Ministry of Education to furnish teacher training colleges nationwide, employing about 100 staff. To support further expansion, Ashut acquired a property on Nyahera Road.

2006 - 2011

Ashut shifted its production from Kitengela to Nyahera Road to boost operational efficiency and logistics, facilitating growth to meet rising product demand. Engineering production was moved from Lokitaung Road to Nyahera, making Lokitaung the plastics division. This transition allowed the plastics division to expand further.

2021 - 2023

Ashut supported the Fruity Schools Africa initiative to improve the lives of Kenyan children by planting 41 grafted fruit trees at each of the 337 schools in Nairobi County, fostering nourishment and a hopeful future. Additionally, they launched Luxewrap, a brand of high-quality interior vinyl wrap lms available in various colors and textures for transforming spaces in homes and offices.

2012 - 2016

Ashut upgraded from a 415 V supply to an 11,000 V line, reducing energy costs and
promoting cleaner consumption, which helped them reach a milestone of 1,000 employees. They also recognized a market opportunity in luxury hardwood furniture for homes and offices, investing in advanced equipment that led to substantial growth and the hiring of 1,300 employees.
